Sri Siddhartha University of Karnataka’s Tumakuru has replaced the traditional culture of giving bouquet to welcome the dignitaries with the khadi hand towels.
A great step have been taken by Sri Siddhartha University in Karnataka’s Tumakuru by replacing the traditional bouquet of flowers to welcome dignitaries with khadi hand towels. Dr Balakrishna Shetty Vice-chancellor said that on his 70th birthday he received almost a truck full of bouquets, which made him thinking that why not we will stop this tradition of giving bouquets and placed a proposal of replacing bouquets with the towels made up of khadi’s”. He also added that in the event the given bouquets are left behind, which become trash in next hour. Our intention is we should not create unnecessary garbage. So, any event within the campus or outside, dignitaries will be welcomed only with khadi towels.
